About Me

My years as a social worker gave me a unique understanding of the human experience that drives my passion for digital accessibility. I developed skills of empathy, communication, interviewing techniques and the ability to remain resolute in atmospheres of extreme pessimism. Helping people with different abilities navigate systems that were not designed with them in mind showed me firsthand why this is so important and motivates me in what I do.

I enjoy exploring generative AI in my spare time. The advancements we are seeing coming from this are the closest thing I have ever seen to Star Trek in real life, and I am so here for it!

Why "Design The Difference"?

Right now, 90% of the web is not fully accessible to users with disabilities and those who rely on assistive technology. By putting users of all levels of ability truly first, we can make a difference in how digital spaces work better for everyone. Design the Difference reflects my personal mission to collaborate with, educate and empower other creators to make a difference through accessible design. From the beginning of the design process there are opportunities to ensure that we create products that are inclusive, accessible and meaningful to all users.

We can’t be perfect, but everyday we can improve how we show up tomorrow.

I recently started posting accessible design focused content on Instagram. Please check on the page, follow if you’re feeling it and reach out with any feedback or to join the mission – I’d love to have you on the team!
